Is there a chameleon species that is smarter than others? I dont mean a super smart reptile like a monitor or tegu. My veiled seems to be smarter than my leopard gecko in terms of catching prey. But then again he somtimes dedcides to screen climb when he has a perfectly good route to the top of his cage.

My veileds show more personality than my panthers and parsonii and that sure makes them look smarter.

i agree. my female veiled seems ALOT smarter then my female hoe. she doesnt really put tactic into anything, rather, she just does what she wants to do. Its very cute to see her crawl on my veiled but the first time she did it she could have got eaten and ovicously didnt "think" about that. my pygmy seems to have more insticnt than chloe and hides alot. but he's WC mabey a CB would be a little less like that. My female also figures out what to eat/not eat quicker. my hoe is very sweet dont get me wrong, but clair overall seems to be better with intellegence.

My panther knows when it's feeding time as soon as i come by the cage he darts to the bottom of the cage waiting for me to drop some food in there lol

Pavlov?????????

Yea in Africa they used to walk through the villages beating pots and pans to scare the lions . It wasn't long after the lions recognized that is their dinner bell. That seems to apply here as well with most.

Smart is unlocking the cage and starting the shower and dusting your own crickets. Thats a smart chameleon. I find my carpet to be the smartest out of my group. Sneaky lil bastad
