My panther chameleon Louie, has been drinking like crazy, but he just hasnt eaten in a while. Its been a few days(3-4) since hes had a good serving of crickets. Today he showed interest to the cone i feed him from,he looked like he was about to shoot his tongue out at it,but then he moved back and started rubbing his eye on a branch. He then went to a basking spot and i tried doing the same, but he showed no interest. What should i do?

How old is he?

Sometimes the older ones will get tired of eating the same thing over and over and will refuse to eat until they get something else offered to them.

He is 16 months. I mean,he seems a LITTLE interested since he tried to get a cricket. Should I get silkworms, but if i do,will I have to keep feeding him them?

Try silkworms, butterworms, maybe some hornworms. Feed these to him for a while. Maybe in a month you can try to feed him crickets again.

The crickets should be fed to him on most days but it is nice to switch it up because they can get fussy and not eat. They like a variety of different foods just like people do. I give my guys crickets 4 or 5 days out of the week and pheonix worms or silk worms for the other days.

Silkworms are very nutritous but even a few mealworms usually does the trick. They are like candy. A few every once in a while should make him happy.

Mmmk,im interested in the silkworms, any of you guys know a link for the husbandry of them? And should I be worried that he is not eating btw? Or should I think this is just a normal phase?

For a few days you should not worry but if this goes on for a week or more you could have a problem. I think you should hurry and go to your local pet store and buy some silkworms. If he eats them theres no problem, if he doesnt there could be a problem.

Ok...well I cant find any pet stores around here that sells them, what about some other worms? Like wax worms or meal worms?

Hey! my 1 year old veiled went 3 weeks without eating a thing. yesterday he ate one supperworm, and nothing today. i tried everything under the sun he just didnt wanna eat. dont worry, a growing cham like that will eat soon.

I think you'll have to order your silk worms online. Try mulberryfarms.com. Their great people to work with. Get a few hornworms while your at it. Mine goes nuts for hornworms but won't touch silkies. Most people's chams love the silkies though. Keep us posted. David

But are they easy/hard to care for? Meanwhile ill get a few meal/waxworms to keep him busy, ill sprinkle some calcium dust on them.

the answer to that is yes and no..
It's hard because you have to keep the cage clean all the time.
Silkworm cannot survive from bacteria and mold infestation.
Also, you can kill silkies by handling them with a dirty hand.. i know a bit about silkworm rearing. PM me w/ your questions.
For now go to wormspit.com for basic care

I am using a 5.0 reptisun UVB. Ok,is it ok in the meanwhile if I feed him mostly mealworms?

Darn it...no place is shipping silkworms cause of the holidays...anyone kno what i should doto feed him while im waiting?
