Ch. africanus are hatching!

Went to check on the eggs today and found 2 of them walking around 27 more to go and all the eggs look great.

Oh. My. Goodness!! Too cute! What is it? Common name...

Awesome news Paul!! I was really hoping that some of these would hatch for the people that got those imports last year. Great job and huge CONGRATS!!

Not sure? Im assuming "African chameleon".
They are already up at the top of their cage basking! haha

Oh, ok...So they're not carpets or anything like that? Are they smaller chams when fully grown?

These are more similar to veiled size

Neat! The first ones I've heard of hatching so far! How many eggs total do you have? Or is this the only clutch?

Eggs were laid Dec 22, 2011. Incubated at a constant 74 degrees.

27 more eggs waiting to hatch. This is the only clutch. The parents were both WC and died within a few months of coming in.

Well I hope they do well for you! Hopefully some others will hatch some so a nice captive population can be set up.

Wow congrats. seems like just yesterday when these came in. does anyone else still have eggs going? I know a ton were laid.

What's the news?

Only those 2 have hatched so far. The rest look good...

Fingers crossed. I think this species is a great candidate for popularization.

The coloring on those look great for being just hatched!
