Got these two fat little turds not long ago. Ill keep all updates in this thread. To start off, I was a little paranoid at first. The male was doing this weird "choking" thing after he would drink when I first got him and the female had some eye irritation. Both issues have gotten better over the past few days so I am thinking the male was just super thirsty and gorging himself and the female had irritated her eye, both from the shipping process. Both have been drinking like fish, eating like pigs and pooping nice normal poops from day one:D Its been a while since I raised any babies so that is a big part of the paranoia. I think its been 2 years since I had 3 clutches of K. tavetana and 3 clutches of Tr. ellioti being raised at the same time. I have to say, I dont miss having to raise around 80 freaking babies:eek:

I asked for a male and female which Id say that is what I got if they are anything like K. tavetana. The male has a slightly larger tail base it seems and his horns are further apart and broader than the other which Id say is a female. Too bad the males arent maroon while the females are green like tavetana. Time will tell.

Great shots! These guys are so cool!! I hope to be getting my pair pretty soon too:D Be sure to keep us updated ;)

DOH is Nov. 4th if I remember correctly without looking at the paper Chad sent. If at all like tavetana they should hit a good growth spurt any time now. The weather for housing them outside 24/7 is just around the corner too. With that and the tons of bugs that will be around they should definitely get to growing faster.

These guys are all over the place, too. Super active!! Im going to be building custom enclosures for when they get bigger. I just cant see having them in any of the commercial screened enclosures once full grown. Reptarium would be good but they are ugly and not ideal for housing outside since they get super hot.

Awesome!!!! Ill definitely keep in touch and share notes! Lets hope for some diversity to come in down the road. If none come in or I cant get an unrelated specimen on breeding loan by the time my female is well ready to breed I will be breeding these two together, as long as they are opposite sex. I hate to do it that way but if it means a chance to reproduce or no chance at all I am willing to do it. Lets hope it doesnt come down to that though.

They look good Jarred. I hope you and everyone else with pairs of this species has good luck breeding. Plus lets cross our fingers that if Tanzania officially opens up to see small quotas of this great species.

Awe they are absolutely adorable!! :) Great pictures of them as well. Make sure you keep us updated on these little ones.

Thanks, guys!! Might try and snag a few better pics that show the horn buds and subtle little coloration they have already.

Crazy weather!! It snowed a few days ago and its going to be 87 Monday:eek:
