Roughly 2 month male veiled. Wondering if I can give him dubia and or anything else that will replace the crickets lol

ya

ive see a lot of people on these forums that get tired of how much work crickets can be so many do move on to dubias and other ways of feeding their cham it all really comes down to making sure your cham gets what it needs. Good luck

You can give him whatever insect he's able to eat. Silkworms have a lot of support here as do superworms and dubia roaches.

Why are crickets unacceptable? I'm just curious.

I wouldn't give up on them. They are easy to gutload, easy to dust, easy to come by, and cheap. Its good to have a variety of feeders but I wouldn't stop IMO

Cause (and sorry to rant on Petsmart) but I received a few Dead after the first night crickets and to my little knowledge.. dead ones stink... a lot. Like I removed them from Reggies cage and 2 mins later the smell was gone... yes I keep the keeper in there with him. Its the sole fact o .fsmell. I need a larger bin for them one for easy cleaning use. And one for dusting =D Btw I'm ruthless picking these suckers up so don't think I'm a wuss lol

screw petsmart..order bulk online, youd be suprized on how many are not dead (i never got one dead out of many orders from mullberry farms) i breed them now so no issue buying anymore..its actually pretty easy to breed them, then you save $$$ i havent had to buy crickets for over 7 months now..im lovin it!!

yeah, I started buying bulk, NO MORE PETSTORE crickets.. its wonderful. I wouldnt go back to it either. I get mine from Timberlinefisheries.com

Pick up some black crickets...they are easy to breed, easy to keep, stink less and grow to HUGE sizes and gutload like almost nothing else. Now they do bite, and sometimes fly but they are still worth the effort. I think you can pick them up from mulberry farms. I picked up 100 about 6 mo ago and am still going strong with them after multiple generations. 100 from a pet store will not last my 2 weeks...

Remove dead crickets every day, they give off a gas that kills the others. Have plenty of ventilation, and hydration(I use orange) and they won't die. I just did my first bulk order, with dubias as well. I've just had them a day, but I already like them much better than crickets! They are not as freaky as they look!
