I personally wouldn't feed em. They don't smell good and I'm sure they wouldn't taste too good either.

I would avoid anything that has bright colors like that, till I at least find out what it is for sure, and if it's toxic. Plus if it has a horrible smell its not going to be edible.

Yeah, I've heard the brighter the bug, the nastier it tastes...but the momma isn't bright! ;) I'll leave them be.

i had an issue with stink bugs last summer and my cat would get up close to one, and attempt to chew it - and then he'd just gag/puke. so yeah, i don't think it would be a good idea to feed them. awesome pictures though. i love bug pics!

Thanks! Not too shabby for an iPhone 4s...

It is not a stink bug but it IS a "true bug" order Hemiptera. That is most likely some kind of assassin bug. They eat other bugs so I'd leave it alone both because you don't know what it has been eating and because it is a "good" bug AND because it is a mommy!

Those are all good reasons. Don't feed it and leave the kids motherless.:(

100% correct!! And this one is a Leaf-Footed Assassin!:D And the "mamma" isn't a Mamma , not yet anyway! It too is still a juvi, no wings yet.

Definitely an assassin/ambush bug. They are really cool. I had a female panther who would tear up the stink bugs when they would get into her outside cage. Never had any issues. Just because it stinks to us and probably tastes bad to us doesnt mean the chameleon wouldnt mind. Dogs seem to like to eat crap, literally crap, and roll in dead animals. Im guessing they like the taste and smell of those:eek::D
