Hi there guys. I used to post here then my chameleon lost his tongue a few months ago. He needs hand fed every day. I end up prying his mouth open and giving him super worms. He is dying. Every day you can see more and more of his bones exposed. I'm looking to give him to someone kind of close to me because I can't dive very far. I can only feed him 3 times a week but if someone would have the time to feed him daily he would start putting weight back on. I know he could live a good while longer but if he stays here with me he won't have a chance. He still has fight left in him and gets around fine he's just starving because he doesn't get he has to open his mouth to eat. Which is why he needs hand fed and his mouth forced opened . I'd like to give him to someone who knows a lot about chams and has a lot of experience. With college I leave at 6am and don't get back till 8pm which is why he only eats 3 times a week with me. Please let me know if you think you can offer him a fighting chance. Thank you. I'm from south of Pittsburgh

I sure wish I was closer Id be happy to help you out. I am currently hand feeding my guy everyday since he lost some function (occasional force feeding). I am about 3hrs from you though :( What kind and how old?

He's close to a year and is a nosy be x ambanja. He is very beautiful. I have his pics under my profile. Where are you located I might be able to meet you half way? I don't have a cage I could give with him because he is in a 7 or 8 feet tall cage and I had to take my door frame off to get it in the room. It breaks my heart to have to try to rehome him but I'd rather him be in good care where he could live happy and healthy rather than let him die here.

I could defiantly take him and give him the care he needs is,so have a extra age available I live in NH though so you have to ship him to my if your interested I'm sure there's a couple guys in PA that can help you ship him

He was never shipped before so I'm not sure he would make the journey in his condition. What's a ball park of how much shipping would be?

I would have met half way or (almost the whole way) Wexford but all I have now is a small exoterra and I don't think that would be good for him :( sorry. I for sure would take him if you had the enclosure he would come with. Hopefully someone who has the extra time and space will take him for you. He really is a beautiful boy! Keep us updated or if anything changes let me know, just pm me. Good Luck

If you want to take him ill give you a large reptibreeze. Ill have to replace the screen on one side, but id like him to go to a good home.

I'm sorry this happened, but i am glad you were able to find someone to take him :)

I would just like to note that if schedule is the only issue you can adjust their schedule. All my chams wake up around 12:00AM and go to sleep around 12:00PM. I work during the day and am currently only able to feed/maintain them after work. This adjusted schedule is accomplished by covering the cages so no light gets in while they are asleep. All of them are healthy and eat regularly. Adults only need to eat every other day. I've heard that chams without tongues can also be trained to eat out of a cup/container on their own.

You may not have time do any of these things, but I am just making you aware of the option so you know it can work.

If deer harvester could do this would you want to meet? I really like the idea of him going to someone who has experience with force feeding. I don't want someone who isn't used to it to give up or accidentally break his jaw. Thank you so much deer harvester for that offer.

If this really is possible and we can orchestrate this then yes I will take him. I am off work this week but I also have classes Monday through Friday (mostly days). Let me know what is best for you as far as days of the week. Can you post a recent pic of him? Do you know his current weight? What is he used to eating currently? When was his last checkup? Im just asking so that I know what to tell my vet in case anything comes up.

That is an awesome offer!! If we can work it all out, I will take him and do my very best for him. Thanks so much! :) I also have a busy schedule but he really wouldn't take much more time than my guys already do, whats an extra half hour give or take for feeding ?! I haven't had much luck with above posters suggestion of cup feeding, my guy is stubborn! I have to be holding the cup or he won't eat, he's such a prince!

So thanks again Scott for the kind offer, hope we can work this out! I really want to give this guy a chance!

Fantastic! I have a layover in Philly this week and actually called the airline to see about getting an in-cabin waiver to take him home with me. No luck. I'm really glad he seems to have a solution!

pm me and I'll give ypu y number and you can give me a call and I can send pictures over the phone if that's alright. I figure I can answer you far better over the phone than typing on it. Thank you much to everyone. I really appricate all the help for my guy.
