I was just wondering if anyone had come across a chameleon who did not have the abuility to change colour? My female veiled has never ever gone dark? The only colour change that I have found is that her spots go darker! Apart from that she developed orangy stripes when she was gravid the first time (which have always stayed ever since.

Now that I have two other chameleons that are constantly changing colour I was wondering if my first cham was lets say colour-changingly challenged?

female veiled are usually less colorful than the male.
But, normally, you should start to see some interesting coloration appear when he's receptive and gravid.

she has never seen a male but when gravid her spots darken slightly and they also darken sometimes when outside in the sunshine! Her overal bright green colour never changes though LOL.

I never saw anything other than green with my lady Lucy until she became receptive, then gravid. WOW, pretty blue spots, yellow stripes. I was amazed. When she became gravid her background color changed to dark green, not black. I posted a pic of her on another thread under ummmmm. Well, look where people post about making babies. I forgot the title of that forum.

i dunno why but id think it' might be interesting to an albino chameleon..which would that mean he is color challenged and only could do shades of white?
