A Calumma ambreense Video

Motherlode Chameleon

Here's another Tropic Media video about Calumma ambreense. This is one of the Parsonii similar chameleons. Calumma ambreense happens to have a small restricted range in the north of Madagascar in Parc National de Montagne d'Ambre. The species is listed as a Near Threatened species by the IUCN Red List. However this population could use habitat restorations and an expansion of the current range through reforestations outside of the National Park.

This species was discovered and originally described as a species in 1974 by Ramanantsoa as a sub species of Calumma oshaughnessyi or Calumma oshaughnessyi ambreensis. Then was given species status as Calumma ambreense in 2009.

I had a male and was a really nice and stunning blue colours. Not too much big, adult size around 40-45 cm maximmum!
