Ok, i have a 1 year old Male Veiled chameleon, ive had him since about the middle of february and ive never had any problems with him. As of now hes in a 18"x18"x36" screen enclosure made by reptibreeze (lxwlh). I just recently re arranged his cage, ive been having trouble finding appropriate stuff to put in the cage but what i do have consists of a Ficus tree ( which has a very large pot, i couldnt find a smaller one) some grapevine branches and some other kind of branch. the pot takes up quiet a large portion of height from the enclosure. Ever since i changed the enclosure up hes become agressive and i mean very agressive (he trys to bite me every time i try to handle him) the enclosure has only been like this for two days. What should i do? ill post pics of the enclosure and can you please tell me where i can get the right things to put in his cage, and what to put in it? also please tell me what ive done wrong with the enclosured. The store i bought him from says nothing is wrong with it but my chams personality has completely changed.

Your enclosure looks fine. He may just be turning into a typical adult-territorial aggresive male Veiled. Answer the following and we will help you troubleshoot...

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.
Current Problem - The current problem that you are concerned about.

Cage- 18" wide X 18" deep X 36" high. all screen
Lighting- use zoo med bulbs and lighting domes, a 50 wat basking bulb and the other bulb is a uva/uvb. i turn lights on at 7am and they go off around 7:30-8:00 in the afternoon.
Temperature- Honestly i have no idea what the temp is, the store i bought him from supplied me with the cage the bulbs the domes, and the chameleon, they didnt tell me i needed meters for the temp and humidty.
Humidity - ^^
Plants- I have a live ficus plant
Placement- The enclosure is in my room so the only person that walks by it is me, the cage is under a vent but it does not blow out air.
Location- I live in Southwest florida.

Cham info:
Chameleon: A male veiled chameleon about 1 year old and has been in my care since february of this year.
Handling- I usually only handle him a few times a week although this week i have been moving him around alot more to get his cage set up (the store also requested i bring him in so he had to go in the car)
Supplements- i use Reptocal w/D3 and Reptolife Multi vitamins and minerals.
Watering- I seldom see him drinking, but his eyes have not sunken in so i dont think hes dehydrated. I mist the cage in the morning ( around 8) when i get home (around 4:20) a few hours after that ( about 7) and a short mist before lights out.
Fecal Description- solid brown poo and clear slimy looking urates ( ive only seen 1 so i havent been able to compare it to other urates)
History- Ive had him for about 8 months i had him in a few months in an old glass aquarium with a screen top and moss, branches, etc. i then later moved him into the enclosure he is now in which is an all screen 18"x18"x36" reptibreeze. Hes usually a brownish color and before he became aggresive and i could take him out of the enclosure he turned a lighter green the moment he was out.
Current problem- With the new enclosure set up his personality has changed alot hes let me handle him once in the last two days after he tryed to rip my hand off. also i need to know where to get a small pot that a small ficus can fit in and when i should upgrade his enclosure to 24"x24"x48"

Maybe he is a little extra stressed from the move?? Male veileds are notoriously aggresive though

A few things-Temps are EXTREMELY important for Chameleons (and all reptiles). You need to know what your temps are. You should have a basking spot, or corner, of about 90-95 degrees for his age, and the rest of the cage should be room-temperaure-ish 72-75. You need to know the brand of UVB bulb-it is essential to keep you cham from getting MBD. Coiled compact UVB's are not recommended as some kinds cause eye issues and burns. UVB bulbs also need to be changed out every 6-9 months. He should have a white urate part-white means hydration. It is not uncommon for Veileds to be closet drinkers. I would suggest a calcium without D3 that you would use most of the time. Use the one with D3 1-2 times monthly and vitamins 1 time monthly. You could have upgraded already to the 24X24X48. Sounds like he is happy enough in his new home to become territorial. GIve him some time to settle in, try handfeeding, and know that you may not be handling him much in the future. Welcome to the forums. :)

His behavior could be due to his adjusting to his new enclosure or he is starting to exhibit the relatively common male veiled behavior.
