Brev/pygmy cages

Post says it all… I want pictures of your brev set ups… Please. Some of my family that lives in the area of Mike is going to visit this week so today they made a to-go order for me to skirt them damn shipping charges! I got an F veild, M carpet, and a trio of pygmy’s due in tomorrow and I want to see how all the cool kids set up there Brev cages. Also, any random facts and tips would be good too… Thanks!

Chad-be prepared if you are getting babies for the sheer smallness of these creatures. Pictures just don't tell the story! I took a 10 gallon tank with a screen top. I used a Zoomed 2.0 in a $6 WalMart undercounter flourescent fixture for the top. I ordered the Hydroton and Bed a Beast(coconut fiber) from LLL Reptile. I purchases the activated charcoal (fishtank type) from Wal Mart as I did the small plants that I repotted in the same small plastic pots with organic soil. The frog moss I got from Petsmart as I did the small fake vine that winds through the cage. Essentially it is a layer of Hydroton, a screen cut to fit the tank, a layer of charcoal, another screen to fit the tank, and then the coconut fiber mixed with some sand for the top layer. I added some large rocks, some twigs from the yard as well as some leaves(washed and baked for 30 minutes at 350 degrees). Here are the pictures. Get some REALLY small crickets-pinheads for sure. Mine have doubled in size since I got them. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Here is my setup...........the heat bulb was there because of winter...it fell to 20'F here in BUffalo.... some heat is needed since the cage is next to the window. An old UV bulb is use there.

Newly planted, before any growing had happened. More highways where added.

And my chair to sit and watch them...

I know you can keep some together. I believe the recommendation was one for every 10 gallons.

do you guys keep only females together in order to stop reproduction.

i guess my concern with this setup would be that they would reproduce too much and my tank would not be big enough for all of them.

in looking at info on these guys I have not seen how one deals with feces. It is a terrarium style setup does this mean that as long as you dont overcrowd the tank it is somewhat self cleaning?

I will attest that 4 baby pygymelions poop ALOT. I am scooping with a plastic spoon. I don't really think that there is a way it could be self cleaning. Someone please let me know if I am wrong!
