It's been quite awhile since I first posted. Since then, Mel has laid her first clutch of 52 eggs, though they were fertile. I just got a male veiled from my aunt, Spencer. He's a bit under a year old. Mel has been put in a 2'x2'x5' cage i built and Spence is in a medium ExoTerra terrarium. The next step is to try to breed the two of them and eventually get some little chams running around. The bad news is by the time the chams actually mate, lay the eggs and hatch out, I'll be overseas on deployment....

Well this is my first blog, so I'll tell about Mel. She is my first pet, and she is unlike most chameleons in the way that she is too happy to just chill on my shoulder/neck. She also doesn't get too excited when I put my hand in her cage and pick her up (crawl on my hand).

She's about 5 months old, and I got her from Turtle Crossing at the Central PA Reptile Expo. She enjoys chewing on pothos, chasing crickets, basking under the lamp, and short walks on the vine.
