Best place to buy Discoid Roaches online?

Hey everyone!

I live in Florida and just found out Dubias are illegal here!! I found a thread saying that Discoid Roaches are legal.. Does anyone use these for their Panthers? Especially anyone in Florida? I want to make sure I don't get arrested!!!

Are there any better suggestions? I'd like to make a colony feeder with something other than crickets.

Maki,

Try a local reptile breeder in your area to see if they have the discoids for sale or do a search. There must be a few on the east coast. From my understanding their husbandry is very similar to dubias, so I would imagine that they will "establish" themselves fairly quickly once you have a good young adult female pop and a few adult males. Do a search and you should have all the information you can handle.

Thanks! Yea I'm poking around, and someone suggested to try and ask Nick Barta if he has anymore Green Banana Roaches.. I'll try that route first and if not I'll look around. There's so much out there though, I'd trust a good word from someone here at the forums :D

I live in Florida and I purchased discoids at the Daytona reptile show on August. I have a card in my car of the place I bought them from. I'll post it tomorrow. I brought home 60 mixed babies. They are huge now. They have not reproduced yet. Only a few have wings so far. Obviously if you purchase adults it's much quicker for reproduction. It was a bit of a learning curve for my Cham. Not in a feeding cup, not free range , he will only grab them from tongs. I purchased the green bananas from Nick Barta. It's one of my favorite feeders. They are smaller than I originally thought they would be but my Cham loves them.
