basking temp

neither,im trying to get as much info before buying one. i want to start off with a 3 month old, so im guessing baby.

See I have a question about this.... I try to keep basking for Stanley (5 months) at 88 degrees and downed his bulb size to 60 watts to achieve this but every time the temperature goes down he moves closer to the bulb to get hotter... Daytime temps in my apt range from 70-80 degrees (I open all windows when I'm home to run fresh air)... I also have Herbie at a basking point of about 83 but he does the same thing... He'll climb the cage if he has to just to get that extra heat... Could it be because both Stanley and Herbie's breeder gave them TONS of natural sunlight early on?

They love the heat so much you could use a 100 watt they would still go as close to the bulb as possible and get a bad burn if you allowed it.
