I honestly dont believe you can make that temp gradient in that cage with 100 watt. I have quite a few with frogs in those type cages and cannot achieve what you are able to. a 100 watt and a glass cage equal bad combo. I would invest in a digital gauge with a probe. you can buy them at walmart for around 10 bucks. While your there id also pick up some 40-60 watt bulbs. You will need to test the basking site with the new gauge and probe.

How long are you misting for?

Make sure the insects are appropriate sized..the rule is the no bigger than the distance between the eyes.

Some are able to keep chameleons is glass. I on the other hand believe the care for a chameleon is a glass cage is slightly different. It is not for a beginner. A all screen cage is in your chameleons best interest.

Now with all that said..Some chameleons take a while to acclimate. We just need to make sure the rest of the care is top notch to make this transfer smooth.

hey welcome to the forums! ok first of all please change your basking bulb of 100 watts to a 40watts (i usually use 60 watt but on screen cages). considering that you are using a glass tank 100 watts is way too hot for a baby veiled. please change that as soon as possible. might want to consider getting a screen cage.

My husband is making me a screen cage this week. The cage she is in was what they person sold us with her. I will go buy that stuff and try that. Thanks for help, Also i mist for 45 seconds. I know that caring for them is not for beginner but my husband bought it for me and now i am just trying to make sure the right care is given to her. Thats why i found this fourm
