Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
WE GOT OUR CHAMELEON ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO. WE GOT HER AT A REPTILE SHOW. THEY WERE PROBABLY NOT READY TO BE SOLD. WE GOT VERY LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW OLD SHE WAS. SHE WAS ABOUT AN INCH LONG, AND GIVEN TO US IN A VERY DIRTY CONTAINER. WE BOUGHT A NEW CONTAINER, AND PUT SOME LEAVES IN IT FOR HER. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS WE NOTICED THAT SHE WAS ITCHING HER EYE. WE GAVE HER A WARM SHOWER, WHICH DID NOT HELP. IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. SHE CLOSES HER EYE ALOT, AND IT OFTEN LOOKS CLOUDY, WITH SOME REDNESS AROUND IT. SHE ALSO SLEEPS ALOT. IS THIS NORMAL? WE CALLED A LOCAL REPTILE VET, BUT THEY WERE NOT MUCH HELP. THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY ANTIBIOTICS FOR HER. WHAT ANTIBIOTICS SHOULD WE GET? WHERE? ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? ANY HELP WOULD BE USEFUL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! WILL SEND PICTURE IF NEEDED.

Their eyes are often sensitive to new UVB lights. I'd never recommend a 10.0.
Most here use the Reptisun tube style 5.0. I would turm off that light and get the 5.0 18 or 24 inch long reptisun and hang it up off the top of the cage.

ok i will do that. do u think that is the problem, she was iching befor i got that light it also looks like she is moving her eye around when it is closed

That is a very young animal. You're right when you suspect they were not ready to be sold. I suspect the area under the light is too hot. That bulb is recommended for desert reptiles. You definitely want something less intense. Babies actually want a cooler basking temp than adults.

Welcome to the forum, the people here will do all they can to help you with your new, very young, baby.

going to get the 5.0 light today but she seems to be iching it more. now it seems to be getting more red aroung the base of the eye just the left one the right one looks fine it looks like an infection what about antibiotics i think there is a web site i can get them at what do u think? thanks for all the help
