Hi All,

Greetings! Has anyone of your cham baby experience the same thing?

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veil, Male, and 9-month old.
How long has it been in your care? I have had him for 6 months
Handling – Occasionally, maybe once a week
Feeding - In the first 3 months, he has been eating 15 - 20 small/medium crickets, sometimes 10 - 15 roaches. Starting December, he lost almost all appetite. Had at most 3 crickets every 3 days until now. Bought a lot of horn worm and super worm just to increase his appetite, it didn’t work.
What is the feeding schedule? Used to be daily, now every other day
Gut-loading feeders? bug burger, fresh carrot.
Supplement? Repashy Calcium Plus daily, Reptivite with D3 once a month.
Watering – 5-stage home filtered pure water.
How often and how long to you mist? Hand spray 3 times a day, 1 min each. Also provided water dripper.
Do you see your chameleon drinking? Rarely
Fecal Description - Feces looks very normal, especially the urine is white not runny.
Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? Not that I know of.
History – Got him from local breeder, Chameleon.Inc.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Zoo Med ReptiBreeze Open Air Screen Cage, Small, 16 x 16 x 20-Inches
Lighting – new Zoo Med ReptiSun 15 Watt 18-Inch T8 Fluorescent Lamp. 40v regular blub for basking, recently changed to 60v and he seems less stressed.
What is your daily lighting schedule? Lights on 7am, off 6pm.
Temperature - 85 basking, lowest overnight temp 65.
How do you measure these temps? Zilla Digital Thermometer
Humidity – Not constantly measured.
Plants - Mixture of live (benjamina) and fake. Plenty of place to hide.
Placement - they have their own indoor room, no vents or fans, corner of the room.
Location – CA, bay area

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.
2Pee was very healthy when we first got him. He had good appetite, constantly shedding and growing until December. In mid-December, he stopped eating all of the sudden. Appetite dropped from 15 medium crickets per day to 3 crickets every other day. We tried cup feeding him and let him free hunt. He would look at his food, and show no interests. If he refused to eat, we would clear out the bugs and let him not see the bugs. But it didn’t help with his low appetite. A lot of times we caught him on the bottom of the cage wondering around which worried us, but he didn’t seem to be closing his eyes or lack of energy. His color was most of time at his stressed stage (picture attached), not sure what is causing it. It has been 3 months, and nothing has gotten better. I used to take him out for sun bath, but I stopped doing so afraid of causing stress.

In December, we got a Panther, named 3Pee. His cage is next to 2Pee’s and we put a divider in between the two cages so they couldn’t see each other. 3Pee is 3 month younger than 2Pee, but now is twice 2Pee’s size. Both of their cage has the same setting, including lighting, misting, plants, food, etc. The second cham is not the cause of his stress, because there was another cage next to his to begin with, nothing has changed.

do you have a scale? you should watch his weight maybe bugs are getting into his cage while your gone? i know my lighting attracts bugs caught him munching on a few before

I haven't weighed him yet, I will definitely start doing so. Good question about the bugs! I haven't seen any bugs gotten into his cage before since my husband also works in that room and he was watch their cages.

hmmm ... sometimes mine gets freaked out when i hand feed him so ill take the jumping legs off the cricket and put it on a leaf near by him. maybe hell eat that way?

I know right? Them veils! He is ALWAYS very very very afraid of our hands. But when we approached him with a huge cup full of crickets, he would run to get it. Now he just stares at it, and rolls his eyes...

ya i would continue trying to do what your doing! but u should watch his weight with a scale
