The GIANT Green Banana Roach

In the above picture, you see a GIANT adult female next to the smaller regular GBR.

The GIANT Green Banana Roach is 4 times bigger than the regular GBR. The GIANT GBR is a lighter green than the regular GBR, but if you have Jackson chameleons or bigger, the GIANT is for you! The GIANT GBR take 5 minutes of care, once a week. They die quickly at room temperature, much faster than Dubia roaches.

Green Banana Roach

The GBR is my favorite all-around feeder. With the BRIGHT GREEN color, and the quick movement to catch the chameleons’ attention, this is a hunger strike breaker! Smaller chameleons can still take the adults, and if they escape, they die quickly at room temperature, much faster than Dubia roaches.

Indian Stick Insects

The Indian Stick Insect is the most common stick insect raised for study in universities, classrooms, and as a feeder. Adults reach 5 inches, and the Indian is very soft, so chameleon’s can take a bigger Indian Stick easily. Nymphs and adults can be housed together; they eat Ivy, blackberry, romaine, and more (See my care sheet).

Bean Beetle Cultures

I culture Callosobruchus maculatus, a tropical, prolific species. The larvae eat black-eyed peas; the adults do not eat. The culture needs no water, the adults need no food; this is a no-care feeder!

If you have baby chameleons, Carpets, or Pygmies, Bean Beetles are a great feeder; they climb screen, plastic, branches and glass, getting within range of your timid eaters, and are the size of Hydei fruit flies.

What are the best things about this feeder? The Bean Beetle is 30% higher in protein than crickets, ounce for ounce! The second amazing fact is the adults do not fly (glide a few inches really) unless the culture is crowded. If the culture is crowded, you get fliers! So you can control your feeder to become a flier! How cool is that??

Wax Moth Pupae- It is time for some moth-eating fun!

I culture The Greater Wax Moth, Galleria mellonella, the larger of the 2 species available. The cultures are mostly pupae, and at room temperature will begin hatching quickly. Each culture started with 50 wax worms, so you will get about 45-50 flying targets for your chameleons! The food in the culture can be used to culture a new group of flying fun food.

$9.00 each, or 4 for $30.00

Wax Worm culture cups with food only (no eggs/larvae/ moths) $5.00 a cup.

Fruit Fly Cultures-High production at low cost…

The FLIGHTLESS Hydei and Melanogaster fly cultures are from established healthy stock. The food is a proven blend of potato flakes, oatmeal, Brewers Yeast, baking yeast, and a mold inhibitor, as well as some other ingredients. The amount of flies produced eating this FF recipe is amazing, proven over a decade of testing.

When ordering, consider the following:

The Hydei are the larger of the 2 flies, the Mel’s the smaller. When ordering, specify which you want.

I try to sell cultures that are not exploding with flies (known as being in full bloom), unless requested. Full bloom cultures are about to “crash” which means every fly will die-pretty much instantly, which makes unhappy customers.

One of the problems shipping FF cultures is that the food can slide around in the cup, which can drown the adult flies. The eggs, larvae and Pupae are not harmed, and will continue to populate the cup. I ship extra adult flies in a separate insect cup to put in your culture container, so if your adult flies drown, you will still have adults to lay eggs, or feed off immediately to your chameleons.

$10.00 each, or 4 for $35.00 On the 4 each pricing you can mix both species.

Fruit Fly culture cups with food and excelsior only.

There are no eggs, larvae, or flies in these cultures; these are for making new cultures. Store in refrigerator until you use. $6.00 each.

Chinese Mantis Ooths(egg cases)

I get the largest Chinese mantis (Tenedora sinensis) ooths collected in the US. These Ooths will produce about 300-400 nymphs, which are just the right size for new chameleon or Pygmies. The ooths can be stored in the refrigerator and will have good hatch rates into August. The ooth is glued to the lid of the insect cup so the “zipper” is facing down. The zipper is where the 2 flows from the female mantis merge; all the nymphs exit the zipper, so it must be on the down side. To hatch, just put the cup in your chameleon room, the hotter the room temperature, the quicker they hatch.

Be sure to have Melanogaster Fruit Flies ready, they will eat a bunch! If you keep lots of FF in the habitat, they will not do much cannibalism until 2 more molts.

Chinese Mantis ooth 80-ounce large cup/cloth lid/humidity foam. There is a hole in the lid with a sponge stopper; you spray water through the hole and drop fruit flies into the hole using a Funnel. No escaping Mantis. $10.00 ea.

Chinese Mantis ooth in a 32-ounce hatching cup/cloth lid. $7.00 ea.

Mantis nymph growing container/mesh lid/humidity foam. $7.00 ea.

Blue Bottle Fly Pupae

Blue Bottle Flies will reach every place in the chameleons’ enclosure, often raising a strike response when worms are boring. The container has a hole in the side covered by blue painters tape so you can remove the tape to let the flies escape to their death… The container is great to use when you want to feed in your absence; as they hatch, they explore.

I am not capable of providing spikes in quantity, for those orders please contact mantisplace.com. Rebecca always has fresh stock!

I am able to offer 50 (approximate by weight) BB pupae in the feeding cup for $2.00 each. Think of the BB as dessert!

Shipping

I ship USPS Priority and use an insulated box with a CryoPak temperature regulator inside. The CryoPak heats or cools to maintain 68 degrees in the box. Between the heavier box wall, insulation, and CryoPak, I have had no DOA’s due to temperature or crushing. Nothing worse than opening up a box of dead; my shipping is a bit more, but my guarantee is based on the quality of insects, and the method of shipping.
You will receive a tracking number from USPS via your email.
Shipping costs are figured for each order, so email me your shipping address so I can figure out your shipping costs. The average order has been $17.00 shipping.

Payment

I use Pay Pal, my account email is [email protected]. Be sure the shipping address on the Pay Pal account you pay on is correct, we ship off the PP paperwork, unless emailed to use another address.

Guarantee

I guarantee live arrival, and satisfaction on your order. If your order has any problems, I will resolve them quickly, to your satisfaction.

Please note this add replaces the previous ad. These shipping prices are lower, and I have more feeders!
