2014 Daytona Show

Who is planning on going to the Daytona show next month? I haven't been in a few years so figured I'd take the trip up there, and would love to meet some fellow keepers from on here!

I'll have on a dark blue ,,,,Chameleon shirt, and am in my mid-30s - name is Michelle, so look for a girl! Hope to meet you all there (and don't be offended if I only know you by your screen names)

I'll be there and it will be crowded. You'll have to share text numbers and plan a spot to meet up.

I'm going up Fri, spending the night, and doing the show Sat, then driving back to Naples. It's a long trip, but will be worth it, and I'm leaving the husband at home so I can browse in peace!

This is the first year in several that I can't go! Boo! I live in Miami now and between the long drive and work on Saturday it's just not worth driving up just to go on Sunday.

You crazy kids have fun!

I am going to try to make the Friday show if thats not the weekend that my parents come down to visit.

The show is Sat. and Sun. On Fri. all the venders are getting ready and then Friday night is the Symposiums in the host hotel, the Hilton ballroom, which is right across the street from the show venue.

Sat is possible too. It would have to be early

I will see if work allows. Hope I can make the trek! (I'm not coming home with anything though )

BOOYA! My flights were booked this afternoon. Florida get ready for here I come. I look forward to seeing some old friends again and meeting some members that I have not.

Daytona

hey all! I am new here. And new to the forum world and not very good at it. I will be in Daytona with my son. We do not have a chameleon but we are doing research on them because we are seriously considering getting one. Do any of you have any vendors that will be at the show that you recommend we go to or stay away from? We like to be well informed before we buy a new critter so any input is helpful. Also, since it seems like many of you live in Fl do you keep your chameleon outside, inside or both?

Welcome to the forums. I don't recommend buying from a reptile show. What kind of chameleon are you interested in? I might be able to refer you to one of the site sponsor here on the forums. That being said, shows can be a good place to buy supplies to avoid shipping costs. Do your research and come up with a supply list, and you can consider it one-stop shopping that day! Look at the different set-ups and start to learn what to look for in a healthy chameleon, those that are stressed, those that are having trouble shedding, and those that come from good breeders. I agree not to buy a cham there, but it's a great place to ask questions, talk to people, and just have a great way to enjoy an afternoon!
